Spooky Planning is a comprehensive Planning Poker tool designed for agile teams to estimate story points collaboratively. Our free service provides unlimited players, rooms, and voting sessions, with features including permanent room URLs, session history, custom voting scales, real-time updates, and mobile responsiveness across all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). The service works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices without requiring app installation.

2. User Accounts

No Registration Required

You can start using Spooky Planning immediately with one-click room creation. No registration, sign-up, or email address is required to access the full Planning Poker experience, including unlimited players, sessions, and rooms.

Registered Accounts

For enhanced features like permanent room URLs and session history, you can optionally create a registered account using a valid email address. We use magic link authentication for secure, passwordless login. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your email account.

Guest Sessions

When using the service without registration, your session data is temporary and automatically deleted when you close your browser or end your session. All core Planning Poker features remain fully accessible as a guest user.

3. Privacy Policy

At spookyplanning.com, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information.

Data Collection

We collect minimal personal data required for service functionality. This includes your email address for authentication (when you choose to register) and session data stored temporarily in cookies. We also collect anonymous metrics regarding overall website usage to improve our service, but this data cannot be used to identify individual users.

Data Usage

Your personal data is used solely to provide and enhance your experience on spookyplanning.com. We do not track or collect your personal information beyond what is necessary for service functionality. Anonymous usage metrics help us improve the platform but cannot identify individual users. For registered users, you have access to permanent room URLs and session history. You can delete your account and all associated personal data at any time by accessing your profile settings and selecting "Delete Account."

Our servers are hosted in Finland with Hetzner, a trusted European provider, ensuring compliance with strict EU data protection regulations. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

Spooky Planning supports multiple voting scales including the popular Fibonacci sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...), T-shirt sizes (XS, S, M, L, XL), Powers of Two, and custom scales that you can create and edit to fit your team's estimation style and project needs.

Exclusive Features

Our service includes unique features such as the Hidden Keyboard feature, which allows presenters to share their screen without revealing their vote, ensuring unbiased estimation sessions. Real-time updates keep all participants synchronized during voting sessions.

Device Compatibility

The service works seamlessly across all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and is fully responsive on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. No app installation is required - everything works directly in your browser.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use our service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Upload or transmit malicious code or content
